company. Plug Power could receive millions of dollars in federal money as part
of a plan to have its fuel cells provide power to military facilities and
The full Senate still has to give its okay but the Appropriations Committee has
approved a total of six million dollars to develop the technology. New York
Senators Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton say as many as three-million would
flow to Plug Power.
And that is not all the Senate Appropriations Committee is doing to help the
Capital Region. Last night, it approved nine million dollars in federal
programs for the Watervliet Arsenal. Four million is going toward a lightweight
155 millimeter Howitzer. Five million will go toward bringing in private
business and jobs.
