Default index funds

hi everyone,

warren buffett has always advocated indexing as the best investment strategy for the "know nothing" investor who wishes to invest in the US equities, but he stopped short of saying how an investor should divvy up their holdings into international, australasia and european equities.

can anyone clarify his position?

thanks,

pb
